QUIET IN THE STORM THEME FOR 2014: CAREFUL PLANNING FOR DELIBERATE PROGRESSION

THEME FOR FEBRUARY: THANKSGIVING IN OUR HEARTS

ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:  GENESIS 8

Do you find it hard to come up with a good reason to praise God? Then consider this verse with us today, Gen:8:4: “And the ark rested … upon the mountains of Ararat”. At first glance you may wonder what this has got to do with you? Well, God was angry with man and opened the floodgates of heaven and the waters, representing the angry judgment of God flooded the earth killing everything, except the lives preserved in the Ark. When the flood receded, the “Ark” (representing Christ 1Pet 3:20-21) rested on Ararat-a Hebrew name which means “the Curse is (be) reversed”!  Does it make sense now? God has hidden you in the eternal Ark of His Name (Col:3:3: “…your life is hid with Christ in God, Proverb:18:10: The Name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous enter into it, and is safe). You are therefore safe and every curse is reversed for you because “…Christ has redeemed us from the curse…for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree” (Ga:3:13). Halleluyah! You cannot be a believer in Jesus and live in fear, under the threat of a Curse! Jesus has dealt with that for us! He has provided Safety in His Eternal Ark! So why is it so hard to be thankful?  It is because we do not really and truly believe His word. Our human nature keeps pointing to our flaws, noting that we cannot qualify for such great a Grace. Our carnal minds magnify Satan’s Kingdom and we are gripped with fear and doubt constantly. Jesus said in Mark 5:36 to the ruler of the synagogue “Be not afraid, only believe!”. Beloved, Believe! Believe! Believe and have your peace! You cannot add anything to the finished work on the Cross, but you can embrace and press into it all the more. No matter what happens, keep believing and declaring your eternal safety and freedom and let’s dare to see what the Lord will do!#Rejoice#Believe
